Laser Tempering

     Adding to our existing colour-matching expertise, the R&D department has finalized the procedures for laser tempering of hard spots from welding, machining, or gradient streaking in cavity mold steel that will be textured or polished.

     A finely tuned beam is used to treat hardness gradients between weld and base metal without affecting the entire work piece. Offering the same benefits of conventional heat treatment, laser tempering's localized scale requires minimal preparation, post-processing, and can greatly reduce lead times.

     Initial results have been very successful and the ground work has been set for further development.
